THE WAIKERIE SILO ART MURAL will draw visitors back to the centre of our gorgeous little river town and help unite our community. We’ve been through some rough patches with the Millennium Drought and population decline, but a project like this will promote tourism and lift our spirits! The mural theme of HEALTHY RIVER, HEALTHY COMMUNITY, will emphasise the need for a healthy, living river and convey how important the beautiful River Murray is to our lifestyle and economy. Lets create some civic pride, reinvigorate our town and put Waikerie back on the map! MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT!

Silo art has been creating great interest with thousands of tourists visiting silos in Victoria and South Australia. This is a wonderful opportunity for Waikerie tourism, and at the same time the local community will be able to turn a sad site into something vibrant that the whole town can be proud of.

Thanks for your comments, Natalie. I hope the Waikerie community get behind this project, and VOTE! If they do, this project could be fully funded by this State Government initiative, and this time next year, we could have a beautiful mural on our silos, and be reaping the benefits of all the extra visitors it brings to our town.

I really admire these clever artists and would love to see a mural on our silos, great for tourism for our area.

Yes what a great idea, we have stopped off and seen 3 of the other silos in Victoria on our travels. Lets include Waikerie in this wonderful initiative.

Great idea! Quick, effective, and our town will reap immediate benefits. Tourists will turn off the highway and come to Waikerie specifically to see this!
