Budget

This project will invigorate the small regional Riverland West community of Waikerie and create opportunities for social interaction, community connectivity, and active recreation for people of all ages, particularly children and families. Stage one of the water play space will create economic opportunities by reinvigorating the waterfront area and creating physical and visual connections between the Main Street retail area and community play spaces along the riverfront. This initiative is much needed to stimulate a township that has faced economic decline and wants to reinvent itself to capitalise on tourism opportunities underpinned by River Murray water based activity.

This is exactly what Waikerie and surrounding towns need to boost community culture, financial growth, tourism, participation and the opportunity for families in regards to physical and social health. I go to other towns with my family based on activities such as this. Moonta etc. We need this!!! Come on Waikerie, we all need to make this happen.

Although I now live in the city I regularly visit my home town. Growing up on the river was great, but can sometimes be unsafe for young children. Having a water park would be great for the waikerie and surrounding communities and for attracting tourism to the town. Great initiative!

This would be such a boost to our community. We have enjoyed the water parks at Moonta and Mildura and would love to see one here in Waikerie to help boost tourism and inject some life into the town.

Is this actually ever going to happen, I hope so, it would be a wonderful way to put Waikerie back on the map. This would be amazing for bringing in more tourist and giving the local children also, a wonderful place to play and interact. Come on Waikerie, let's all get behind this, it's just what this town needs, to keep up with the progress of other river towns, and be the first in the Riverland to have a waterpark on the river.
