The can-do community of Cummins wants to improve the well-being of older people who may be socially isolated due to being in residential aged care, or due to frailty. We want to providing opportunities for them to be an active part of the local community through piloted bicycle rides. This wonderful program brings people together and allows older people to get back to nature and be present in the moment. Cycling creates happiness, builds relationships and improves quality of life, with this in mind, we want to promote positive ageing and continued opportunities for older people.

Anything that makes for more entertainment and pleasure for our elderly who have given much to the community over their lifetime can only be a plus.

a fantastic idea. I think you could put the bicycles in a trailer and visit Tumby Bay and pedal around there. What an experience. Ann Baillie

This would be fantastic to get the residents out in the community and be safe for people with mobility and dementia sufferers!!

Cummins is a very flat town and would be perfect for this project. There aren't many outdoor experiences for our elderly people so this would be wonderful and exhilarating for them.
