Adelaide Bike Kitchen runs weekly public bicycle maintenance workshops. People can learn how to fix their own bikes and meet like minded folk in a safe and supportive environment. ABK removes bicycles from the waste stream, recycles and re-homes them through the help of passionate volunteers. ABK thus not only promotes cycling, but it reduces its ecological footprint while strengthening the community that supports it. Now ABK must move and pay associated costs. A number of potential sites have already been identified, keeping ABK open and local is vital for the cycling community and creative culture in Adelaide.

Like many other people I'd like to vote for this but the application says it is out of my neighbourhood. The irony being that I've cycled to ABK :-)

This is such an important initiative for so many people in the community. Not only does it promote health, but also social inclusion, hands-on skills, and empowerment.

This is a great community service. My son and I have used ABK a number of times to fix our bikes. The organisers are extremely helpful and atmosphere is great.

Have you thought of combining with Mike Brisco of "Bikes for Refugees"?

This place is fantastic. My 11 year old built himself a bike withh help from the ABK. Then he built me a bike , again at the ABK, so we could go bike riding together.

Such a friendly community that's been built out of a great idea. The mental and physical public health system savings this group generates make it a super logical choice for funding.

So many empty buildings in our suburbs and CBD that could be utilised.
